Knowledge

A powerful warning given to us that should be heeded. We’ve probably all heard that knowledge is a powerful tool. In fact, we have heard it stated differently and probably never paid it any mind. Knowledge is power, he who has the knowledge, holds the key. Even in the rap world, Knowledge Reigns Supreme over nearly everyone (KRS-one aka The Blast master). Everyone recognizes the power and influence knowledge has in this world.

In the verse, God is telling us that we as people are destroyed from our lack of knowledge. Is physical death or spiritual death? God states that because we reject his word and laws, He rejects us as his priest. Translation, we are rejected as his chosen people. What does this rejection mean? We are no longer covered by his mercy, grace and favor. But it runs deeper than just us, our children are also subjected to this rejection.

How many of us would adhere to certain rules and laws if we knew it would better our child’s life? Well, God is calling us to receive His word, adhere to it and He will surely show favor to our offspring.

What is worse, have knowledge of God’s word, rejecting it and sinning or the person that has no knowledge of it and sins. Even though it is stated a sin is a sin, I submit to you the former is more blasphemous.
