Many of us know the comedian D.L. Hughley from Kings of comedy tour or his network comedy show. Back when he was hosting BET’s comic view he had this running joke where he would simply say, “You need Jesus“. No truer words have ever been spoken!!

Unknowingly, he was continually reiterating exactly what John was saying in the above verse. Jesus wants us to establish a spiritual relationship with him, maintain it and grow in it. If we do those three things, Jesus tells us we will bear much fruit.

So what does bear much fruit mean, in the abstract sense it probably means that you will have many positive occurrences in your life whether spiritually, financially, emotionally or whatever. But rest assured if you remain in Jesus’ presence your experience will be a rewarding and fulfilling one.

Take inventory and ask yourself, How is my fruit bearing?
