Authority over Sin

Bible Verse: Rom 6: 1-2

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

JMR's Words Of Wisdom

The verse comes from my favorite author, the Apostle Paul… Paul begs the question, should we go on sinning so that grace may increase?  I got to thinking about that…
.
We know that “grace” is not receiving what you justly deserve, i.e. you did something/sinned, but God shielded you from the consequences – GRACE. So, Paul asked if we know God continually bestows grace on us, is it okay to continue to sin knowing that God will show grace on us? Paul’s emphatic response, “By no means!
.
Basically, when Christ died for us he gave us authority over sin. It is incumbent upon us to utilize that authority and deny the evil desire sin presents. And although God has grace for us, we should not, as they say, take His kindness for granted. I highly doubt that if you continually and knowingly sin that you would receive any grace…
.
So, I urge you to assert your authority over sin…
.
Remember, it takes a long time to grow old friends…Be Blessed
