Be Reserved/Patient

Bible Verse: James 1: 19-22

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says

JMR's Words Of Wisdom

A passage that I’m sure we have all heard before. It’s one of the wiser statements in the Bible, from my perspective. It talks about being reserved within yourself and applying self-control.
.
In life there are many situations where we do exactly the opposite of this passage. How many times have we heard, “you don’t listen to me” or “stop cutting me off” and lastly how we get angry at the drop of a dime.
.
For instance, I was quick to anger yesterday because my daughter was making noise while I was looking at a show. I got angry because I could not hear the show. Looking back on the situation, how foolish I was. I could have paused the show. Then this passage jumps out at me this morning… it’s like God said read this fool….
.
Anyway, let us be more reserved in these aspects, listen more intently, choose our words thereby thinking intently before we speak and lastly understand that anger never solves a problem unless you are chopping wood…
.
Prov 14:29 – A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
.
Remember, it takes a long time to grow old friends… Be Blessed
