Encouragement

This weeks’ subject matter can go a long way in building people up, in my opinion. Jesus was one that always had the best interest of others in his heart, and he always spoke to lift others up.

Encouraging words can go a long, long way. For example, women are of a different breed, if you have not noticed, lol. Women can thrive, excel and become empowered when encouraged and supported, men too. A few “I know you can do it”, I’m proud of you” or “good job” can lift anyone to new heights.

Delving deeper into this thought, I realized that this principle is something we should be doing all the time for our children.

Encouragement seems to be something that we all need at some point in our life. I’d venture to say that a lack of encouragement directly leads to some of our children acting out and becoming disturbed and dysfunctional young adults.

We should use our tongues for building up and not tearing down. As my favorite rapper turned Reverend says, “An ounce of encouragement when someone is down is worth more than a ton of praise when someone’s up.” – Rev. Run
