Forgive

Bible Verse: Luke 17: 3-4

So watch yourselves. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ‘I repent,’ forgive him

JMR's Words Of Wisdom

I believe that we have to admit our wrong doing to God (humble ourselves), pray to God about the situation and ask for forgiveness (pray and seek my face) and rebuke the sin, hopefully never to repeat (turn from wicked ways).
.
We don’t have to shed blood, sacrifice an offering, give up a loved one just follow 3 small directives. God forgives us of so many things even our thousands of sinful thoughts are forgiven.
.
Conversely, we find it very hard to forgive our fellow man. Luke tells us that we are basically to forgive our brother, fellow man, each time, if he repents i.e asks for forgiveness. How many of us have held grudges or held back our forgiveness for some reason? Or not asked for forgiveness….
.
I find myself even today struggling with this in my own circle. I believe it is human nature to preserve our feelings and avoid situation where we feel we might get hurt.
.
But if God can forgive us for all the sins we have committed then shouldn’t we have the capacity to do the same for our fellow man. So, I urge you, if you have done wrong to another seek forgiveness or if you have been wronged, be open to forgive.
.
Remember, it takes a long time to grow old friends
