The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance
JMR's Words Of Wisdom
I started thinking about this word patience and how it applies to so many things in our lives. Often times in this hustle and bustle world we want immediate gratification. We want our food fast, we want the latest technology yesterday, and we want success over night.
.
Society has conformed us to think in immediacy. But there is one thing we are slow to want and that is consequences and repercussion.
.
I recall in my past how I questioned why I was not able to obtain what I wanted at that time. I would venture to guess many of us have wondered when it will be our time to shine. Human nature creeps in and we begin to question God’s promises.
.
But Peter, tells us that God is not slow in his promise. He is merely being patient with us. He must be waiting for us to develop somethingin ourselvesorgive something up within ourselves before He blesses us. If I had to speculate, I would say God wants us to accept Him wholly, turn away from our sins and give ourselves to Him.
.
I urge you to show patience in whatever you are seeking. Pray that God’s will be done. At the right time and place, I’m sure you will receive what you sought, or God has something better in store for you.
.
Patience with others is love. Patience with self is hope. Patience with God is Faith. – Adel Bestavros
