A slightly longer scripture this week but very informative. Here Paul’s epistle to the Colossians speaks on how we should present ourselves. There is no distinction from the haves or have nots, slave or free. Paul indicates no matter your nationality or circumstance there is only Christ in all.
And as God’s chosen people we are to act and carry ourselves a certain way. These virtues are the basic building blocks to entering the kingdom of God. Implementing these virtues towards others and covering them in Love surely reserves a place in Heaven for you and me.
Aspiring words to live by but sometimes challenging. Life’s trials and tribulations have a way of wearing us down to where we lose focus on these virtues especially when it comes to applying them to those we deem have done us wrong.
Imagine having to show compassion, kindness or gentleness to someone who has done us wrong. But this is what God calls on us to do. Holding anger and resentment towards another does nothing to change the situation.
Forgiveness, humility and the other virtues provide an opportunity for spiritual and emotional growth. And really isn’t that what it’s all about. Growing in God’s word, till Christ be formed in us Fully….
