Revenge
Bible Verse: Rom 12: 18 -19
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

This one may be controversial but let’s take a stab at it. Clearly in Romans, Paul states that we should strive to live peacefully with everyone. So, what do we do when that cannot be accomplished. God says, “it is mine to avenge and repay.”

Some things are hard to comprehend and discern the right path. In our minds, we justify our actions based on the infraction but in our hearts do we really reserve the right to exact revenge when God says leave that to Him.

Shouldn’t we turn the other cheek and as Roman 12:20 states, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”
.
That’s a hard pill to swallow when we believe he have been wronged. We may find ourselves torn between revenge and forgiveness, trapped in a mental purgatory. But as the bumper sticker says, WWJD, what would Jesus do?
.
Our biggest challenge is not to react immediately in anger and allow our Christian spirit to speak to us and guide our actions.

As usual, remember it takes a long time to grow old friends…
